John Barleycorn Must Die

It’s impossible for me to contemplate, as I am doing, these days quite a lot, Lughnasada without feeling heartsore for the drought that grips more and more of Columbia’s entire country. Corn and soybean farms are simply drying up and blowing away. As I contemplate a magicworking with my own small circle, it’s difficult to know if we should work for rain or for people to finally wake up due to this drought.

May your own gardens yield a true harvest.

  1. Yes — do deep wet soft rain magic — drum it round — call it down — dance it up — over the dry parched ground …. please!

  2. I tend to lean towards the latter. This corn is killing us & we’re sleeping right through it.

  3. Given that the drought – along with other manifestations of the overheating of the atmosphere and global climate change – is likely the result of us supermonkeys living in arrogance and error, I agree with Moma Fauna.
