LITTLE PRAYER IN LATE FEBRUARY
Alive still. Long nights
shorter than the nights before,
short as All Hallow’s Eve
the dead end of October.
Hollowed, full of light,
had my creation what life
I gave it, less, or more? Lamp-skull
carved with a light touch: alive, still.
