Of course, what’s happening in Ukraine is unbelievably horrible. And what makes it even worse is that it seems that there’s nothing any of us can do to stop it. So many of today’s issues can seem that way: global climate change, rising fascism, patriarchy . . . . And, yet.
On Twitter, @LadyOfSardines wrote, “It can be overwhelming to witness/experience/take in all the injustices of the moment; the good news is that *they’re all connected.* So if your little corner of work involves pulling at one of the threads, you’re helping to unravel the whole damn cloth. Let’s keep working our corners. Solidarity.” And, of course, she’s right.
And so I wrote my morning’s regular ten postcards for a very local candidate. I answered emails and set up meetings for a grassroots get-out-the-vote group. And, I lit a candle to the Goddess Berehynia.
What corner are you pulling today?
